The Brownsdale man who sexually assaulted two minors over several years was sentenced to 32 years in prison Thursday.
Joshua Mittelsted, 34, was convicted of seven of eight criminal sexual conduct charges on Sept. 18, 2015.
Mittelsted was sentenced on four of the charges due to state guidelines and laws, and three of the sentences will be served concurrently. He will also be on parole for the rest of his life once he’s released from prison.
According to a court complaint, Mittelsted allegedly abused the children in a Brownsdale home beginning in 2012. Mittelsted allegedly would ask each of them not to tell anyone else, according to the report. Neither victim knew Mittelsted allegedly molested the other until recently, according to the complaint. One of the victims decided to tell her father once the victims discussed Mittelsted’s molestation. The father notified police.
