Toby was born on April 28, 1936, in Ely, Nevada, to Frederick and Flora (Hill) Feld. She graduated from White Pine High School. Traveling to Minneapolis to continue her education, she was promptly swept off her feet by a returning war hero, marrying the love of her life, Lyle Larson, in Mason City, Iowa, on Oct. 16, 1954. Toby worked her entire career in corrections at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Lino Lakes. Her favorite pass time was following the Gopher Men’s basketball team. Many of the players in the 80’s became like sons to her. In her spare time, Toby liked to do crafts and crochet, making heirloom baby blankets. She especially loved her grandsons, all nine of them.

Toby was preceded in death by her husband Lyle Larson; and her parents Frederick and Flora Feld.

She is survived by her daughter: Kathryn (Peter) Green, Austin, Minnesota; sons: Fred (Claire) Larson, Oviedo, Florida, and Larry (Tammi) Larson, Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandsons: Fred (Irene) Green, Nathan (Devon) Green, Luke (Kristen) Green, Spencer Green, Jerome Green, Zach (Meg) Larson, Matt (Claudia) Lisenby, Kevin Larson, and Lyle Larson; and a special friend, Ken Engelhardt.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 18, 2016, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 404 31st St. NW, Austin, Minnesota, with the Bishop Rick Bremner officiating. There will be a visitation an hour before the service. Interment will be at the Ely, Nevada City Cemetery at a later date. The family prefers memorials to The Hormel Institute. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is assisting with arrangements.
