The fifth annual Foodie Throwdown at the Hormel Historic Home went over well, with several new items this year. The winner on the main entree was food enthusiasts Gareth Hataye and Alan Rasell with Mediterranean chicken. The winner in the dessert category was Amy Riley with 3B Eatery in Lyle, with bananas foster. The winners won a unique cutting board with a winner’s plaque. HHH Executive Director Holly Johnson said both the wine tasting with Three Oak Wines in Albert Lea, as well as the live auction had good responses. Organizers did not have a total amount raised as of Monday morning, but Johnson said they “exceeded the goal.”
