Southland girls basketball team struggle in first half of loss to DE

The Southland girls basketball team lost 69-43 to No. 7 ranked Dover-Eyota (16-4 overall, 12-1 Three Rivers) in Adams Monday.

The Rebels (7-10 overall, 7-7 Three Rivers) trailed by 25 points at halftime, but they battled in the second half.

“We had a pretty bad first half and we had a pretty good talk at halftime,” Southland head coach Dean Bendtsen said. “They played their butts off in the second half and they didn’t give up. They kept their heads up.”
