Zonta scholarship applications available for non-traditional women heading to college

Applications for the 2016 Non-Traditional College Student Scholarship Applications are now available from the Zonta Club of Austin by contacting Mary Jo Follmuth either by email at austinmnzonta@hotmail.com or phone 507-433-5536 (evening) or 507-437-8773 (daytime).
The goal of the Non-Traditional College Student Scholarship for Women is given out to women who have been out of school for a minimum of five years and are continuing their post-secondary education. The applicant must be a resident of Mower County or attending Riverland College.
Applications are due to: Zonta Club of Austin at 1411 First Ave. SW, Austin MN 55912 by Feb. 12, 2016.
Applications for the 2016 Young Women in Public Affairs Award can be mailed to the same address.
The goal of the Young Women in Public Affairs (YWPA) program is to encourage more young women to participate in public and political life by recognizing a young woman’s (age 16-20) commitment to the volunteer sector, evidence of volunteer leadership achievements and a dedication to the advancement of the status of women.
Zonta is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working together to advance the status of women. This scholarship is one of many programs for women and girls sponsored by Zonta Club of Austin.
