The second annual Pink Party at the American Legion in Adams on Saturday, Feb. 20th.
This is an event with all proceeds going to the Hormel Institute in Austin for cancer research.
The Paint the Town Pink Adams group hosted this day-long event with a silent auction with more than 30 items from a bloody Mary basket to an autographed Bruins signed afghan to local homemade apple crisp. The silent auction made more than $1,900.
The group hosted an all day long cake walk for all ages, ladies playing cards and had lunch available to all. “Not Your Average Joe” the magician came to make balloons and do a magic show in the afternoon and entertained a large crowd. This was sponsored by the United Farmers State Bank.
There was also a “Best Decorated” cake contest between Adams vs. Austin Paint the Town Pink Groups. The Adams Group won the friendly competition with proceeds going to cancer research. They ended the day with our Pink Big Money Raffle Drawing.
The day was a huge success and organizers were grateful to have such a supportive community and surroundings towns that want to help with this cause to fight cancer and find a cure.
