Everett C. Lee, 99, of Austin, Minnesota, died Monday, March 21, 2016, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.
Everett Curtis Lee was born on Sept. 24, 1916, in Turtle Lake, North Dakota, the son of Elmer and Clara (Esplein) Lee. Everett married Joy L. Billick on Sept. 26, 1937, in Byron, Minnesota. He started at Hormel at the age of 16 and worked until his retirement in 1978. Everett and Joy moved to Port Charlotte, Florida, where they lived for 24 years before moving back to Austin. Everett and Joy traveled a lot, visiting almost all 50 states. In his spare time, he liked to fishing, go for daily walks, and tend his garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Joy; two brothers and three sisters.
Everett is survived by his children, Jeannette (Richard) Lange, Bruce, Wisconsin, Ilene Sternal, Punta Gorda, Florida, Raymond Lee and Svetlana, Austin, Minnesota, Judy Lange, Rochester, Minnesota, Ardith (William) Wagner, Austin, Minnesota, Patricia (John) Weldon, Brownsdale, Minnesota; 17 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016, at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Todd Portinga, AiM officiating. Interment will be at Grandview Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Saturday for one hour before the service. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be designated to St. Olaf Lutheran Church.
