Grass fire extinguished within an hour

No buildings were in danger when a grass fire started at about 7:04 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of 12th Street and Fourth Avenue Southeast.

The Austin Police Department and Austin Fire Department responded to the fire, which was about 75 yards in length and 20 yards in width, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.

Krueger said no structures were in danger and the cause is unknown at this time. The fire department had the area cleared about an hour later.
