Ice fishing shelters coming off lakes

ST. PAUL — The Department of Natural Resources says ice fishing shelters must be off lakes in the southern two-thirds of Minnesota by midnight.
If the structures aren’t removed Monday, owners could be cited and the ice houses may be confiscated and destroyed. Those shelters on lakes in the northern third of the state have two weeks before they have to be removed.
The removal deadlines are determined by a line beginning at the Highway 10 state border east to Highway 34 and Highway 2 to the Wisconsin border.
