Renato Andres Parada

Renato Andres Parada

He was born Oct. 28, 1962, in Santiago, Chile, the son of Renato Parada and Raquel Parada Cangas. Renato attended The Grange British Academy in Santiago. He received his business degree from St. Thomas University in Miami, Florida. He met Kathryn Redding on a cruise while she was traveling with her mother and he with a priest, and they were married on June 15, 1985, in Miami. Though Renato spent over half of his life in the United States and cherished his time here, his heart was forever Chilean. Renato started his produce career at International Multifoods in Minneapolis, Minnesota, then pursued further opportunities in California and Arizona before he founded RP Distributing in Nogales, Arizona, in 1999. His company, through the loyal support of his employees, growers and buyers, is still operating today. A man of faith and family, Renato set an example for strength and honor. His influences extended to many, teaching the balance of discipline, integrity and class, all while keeping in touch with your inner child. Renato was a competitive man and lifetime athlete, enjoying soccer, rugby, tennis and golf. He represented Chile in the Jr. World Golf Championship for two years. Favorite pastimes included good food, Chilean wine and tall tales. Renato also enjoyed a good Barcelona soccer match, traveling, entertaining, mountain views, sunsets over the ocean in Santo Domingo, Chile, and being surrounded by family.

Survivors include his wife Kathryn Parada of Austin, Minnesota; his five children, Renato James of Portland, Oregon, Andres William and Nicolas Addison, both of Tucson, Arizona, Matias Paul and Priscilla Raquel, both of Austin, Minnesota; his mother; three sisters, Mane´, Andrea, and Teresa; and one brother Cristian.

Renato was preceded in death by his father.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Austin with Father James Steffes officiating. Friends may greet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Future memorial services will be held this spring in Nogales, Arizona, and at a later date in Santo Domingo, Chile. In lieu of flowers, a college fund will be established for his children Matias and Priscilla. Services prearranged and performed by Worlein Funeral Home of Austin. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.worlein.com.
