Traffic stop spurs meth bust

Austin Police Officers discovered one pound of meth Monday morning during a traffic stop for erratic driving.

At about 3:10 a.m., officers stopped a vehicle and found 28.5 grams of meth, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.

Officers were then led by the driver to a room at the Rodeway Inn where they found more meth, for a grand total of about one pound.

Krueger said the street value of the drugs was estimated at about $45,000.

The driver was taken into custody and is awaiting charges.
