The Packers put up a good fight in the doubles matches, but they lost 7-0 at Rochester John Marshall Thursday.
Austin’s No. 1 doubles team of Noah Kremin and Todd Weaver lost 6-3, 6-4 and the No. 2 doubles team of Christ Kirchgatter and Pater Li lost 6-1, 6-7, 12-10.
“We were much more competitive today. I was proud of the boys efforts and they keep working hard,” Austin head coach Jeff Anderson said. “Chris and Peter put up a great fight at #2 doubles. They were down a set and came back and had match points in the third. Even though they did not pull it out, they learned some good things today. I really like the effort this team puts forth.”
