David Lewis Vogel, 70, formerly of Austin, Minnesota, passed away at his home on March 25, 2016, in Bella Vista, Arkansas.
Dave was born on July 20, 1945, in Austin, Minnesota, to Arthur and Donna (Barr) Vogel. He graduated from Austin High School in 1963 and attended courses at Austin Community College. Dave served in the Army for two years. He served at the Walter Reed Hospital and was stationed in Japan and Hawaii.
Dave’s career took him to many states including Colorado, California, Tennessee, and Missouri. Although he learned to dislike cold weather, Dave was loyal to his home state. Many great friends were made during these years and their regular phone conversations were greatly valued.
Golf was his favorite sport and he was hoping to be able to return to playing in the next couple of months with a new advantage. He was known for his incredible kindness, quirky humor and compassion for all. Dave loved driving his red convertible Sky which had all of the bells and whistles.
Dave is survived by his son and family Bryan, Jamie, Madalyn, and Gavin; and daughter and family Anna, Ron, Chloe, and Georgia. He is also survived by his brother’s family, Gary, Cheryl Jeffery, Jennifer; and several cousins and friends.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents. He was loved greatly by many.
On March 31 a memorial service was held in Bella Vista with his golfing buddies and friends. Another memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary with the Rev. Catherine Lemons officiating. Visitation will be for one hour before the service.
