GM’s Sloan named 2015 Coach of the Year

The Minnesota Football Coaches Association has announced that Gary Sloan of Grand Meadow is the 2015 Coach of the Year. The Coach of the Year Award was presented at the 52nd Annual Football Hall of Fame Banquet Saturday at the Doubletree Hotel Minneapolis Park Place in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.
Sloan is the fifth Class 9-Man coach to win the MFCA Coach of the Year Award. He coached Grand Meadow to its third straight state championship this pas fall and the Superlarks have played in the last four Class nine-man state football title games.
GM now has a 36-game winning streak, which is the longest active winning streak in Minnesota high school football.
Sloan has coached GM for 23 years and he has a career record of 178-72. He has coched the Larks to six state tournament appearances and he has coached six All Star players, the most of any nine man head coach.
