Penalties catch up to Bruins in playoff loss

The Austin Bruins lost the first game of their best of five NAHL semifinal series against Minot by a score of 3-1 on the road Friday.
The Bruins picked up six penalties in the third period and the Minotauros took advantage by scoring a pair of five-on-three power play goals in the last six minutes of the game to go up 3-1. Austin had 30 penalty minutes and it attempted just two shots in the final period.
Kristofer Carlson had 27 saves for Austin.
The Bruins and Minot will play game two 7:35 p.m. Saturday in Minot and games three and four are scheduled to be played April 22 and April 23 in Riverside Arena .
