Austin police said there was no danger to the public after officers surrounded a southwest Austin home Thursday evening.

Police responded to what they called a potentially dangerous situation shortly after 5 p.m., and police with guns drawn blocked off part of 11th Avenue Southwest just east of Sacred Heart Care Center for more than an hour.

However, police left the scene at around 6:45 p.m. and said the situation had dissolved.

On Thursday morning, police briefly blocked off of Austin’s 10th Street Northeast when reportedly responding to a domestic situation, but that situation also dissolved quickly. Police are still investigating.
