Senior center hosting 10-week health course

Just in case you haven’t heard, the Mower County Senior Center is pleased to announce we will be offering a 10-week health and wellness package to residents 55 and over starting at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 18. The program is called the Aging Mastery Program. It was developed by the National Council on Aging (NCOA).
This is a wonderful opportunity for adults to participate in, and reap the benefits of this cutting edge wellness program. We are currently recruiting 30 adults ages 55 and over to participate in a ten-week educational program.
Here are the listings of the classes, speakers, dates and times for the 10 week program.
1. Navigating Longer Lives: The Basics of Aging Mastery — 2 p.m. April 18 with Mary Holtorf, certified trainer.
2. Exercise and You — 2 p.m. April 25 with Rena Langowski, personal trainer and Terri Bergstrom, massage therapist.
3. Healthy Eating and Hydration — 2 p.m. May 2 with Linda Baumann, nutritionist.
4. Falls Prevention — 2 p.m., May 9 with Dick McIntosh, Senior’s Helping Senior’s.
5. Sleep — 2 p.m. May 16 with Dr. Kubas, Sleep Medicine Mayo.
6. Medication Management — 2 p.m. May 23 with Chris Meyer, pharmacist
7. Health Relationships — 2 p.m. June 6 with Bonnie Reitz, community leader.
8. Advance Planning — 2 p.m. June 13 with Mary Kittelson, community services
9. Financial Fitness — 2 p.m. June 20 with Paul Knorr, COO Accentra Credit Union
10.Community Engagement — 2 p.m. June 27 with Michael Maas, RSVP program coordinator

Don’t forget our coffee shop where every day you can have homemade soup for $1 and a sandwich for 50 cents. Tuesday we are having Chicken noodle hotdish for only $2. You are always welcome at the center.
