A Rose Creek woman is facing assault charges after she pointed a gun at a woman who was serving her civil process papers.
Patricia Ann Andersen, 63, of Rose Creek was charged with felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon on Friday in Mower County court.
According to court records, a woman who worked for an Albert Lea process serving company was serving a summons and complaint on Andersen.
She knocked on the door and heard someone yell at barking dogs, but no one answered the door. The woman returned to her car and took notes. When she looked up, she saw Andersen come from behind the house toward her.
Andersen told her to leave and the woman said she would post the paperwork to the door because Andersen was now aware papers were being served. The worker posted the paperwork and returned to her car.
Court records allege Andersen came back out of the house pointing a .357 revolver at the worker. Andersen said something but the woman did not understand her. The woman told Mower County deputies she feared for her life and believed Andersen may shoot her.
Deputies met with the woman a short distance from the house and attempted to make contact with Andersen with negative results. They saw her outside of the home, but was she slow to comply with deputies’ commands and was eventually taken into custody. She then told deputies the gun was in the house, along with an adult relative.
Andersen’s next appearance is scheduled for April 14.
