Woman sentenced for cutting child

The woman who cut a child’s knee on July 15, 2015 has been convicted of a felony.
Larh Larh Sin, 32, of Austin is convicted of felony second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.
She is sentenced to stayed 21-month prison term, meaning she’ll serve seven years supervised probation and 90 days in Mower County Jail, with credit for 53 days already served. If she violates the conditions of her probation, she will serve the 21 months in prison.
Poe Chit, 41, of Austin was convicted of aiding an offender-accomplice after the fact, a felony which was deemed a gross misdemeanor. Chit will serve 15 days in Mower County Jail and two years supervised probation. If he violates the conditions of his probation, he will serve a year in Mower County Jail.
According to police records, Sin allegedly cut the child’s knee on about July 15, 2015, after the child wouldn’t listen to her. Her husband, Chit, allegedly took the child to the hospital and told the child to tell doctors they got the wound from falling off their bike.
The child would later tell police Sin was drunk at the time and told them they deserved to be cut.
Poe allegedly told police he wasn’t aware the child had been cut at first, but he later changed his story and said he didn’t believe the child had been cut but had rather fallen off his bike.
Sin allegedly admitted to cutting the child’s knee in the kitchen of her home and said Poe was in another room, and knew about the injury immediately. She allegedly told police she had difficulty keeping her anger in check after the child refused to listen to her.
