A night of chuckles at Paramount
Published 12:21 pm Sunday, May 1, 2016
There isn’t a better way to wrap up the spring 2016 season at the Historic Paramount Theatre than with some laughs.
Rochester-based comedian Jeff Larson will be back at 7:30 p.m. at the Paramount on Friday with another hilarious line-up of local talent.
Benny Quash returns as the headliner. He performed at the Paramount last March. Benny describes his comedy as making a joke sound simple, but audiences will still be thinking about it an hour later. He highlights the humor of everyday life, along with the humor of lives one never imagined.
Joining him will be Eric Peter DeWolff and Julie Bane. Eric brings his eclectic experiences as an Air Force veteran, family man, casino floor manager, and security officer into a fresh perspective on comedy. He is eight years into a comedy career including travel throughout the midwest from Nebraska to Ohio.
Julie Bane describes herself as possessing a Midwestern, girl next door likability that will have audiences seeing the funny and ridiculousness in any situation — from cross country road trips to getting accepted into a college that she never applied.
Julie’s charm and wit make her a favorite anywhere she has performed, including the Women in Comedy Festival, LaughFest and the Green Gravel Festival.
Tickets for the show are $10 in advance and $15 the day of the show. They can be purchased online at austinareaarts.org, at the Austin ArtWorks Center (Tuesday to Friday 10 a.m. — 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) or over the phone at 507-434-0934.
