Alison Ann Slaathaug Reburn, 33, passed away at home on the morning of May 20, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Alison was born on April 19, 1983, in South Dakota. She attended school in Lennox, South Dakota, and went to college at Buena Vista University where she majored in Studio Art and met the love of her life.
Alison and Ben were married on July 16, 2005, and moved to Japan where they taught English for three years. Their son Max was born in Japan in 2007, and their daughter Ayla was born in 2010.
Alison was an accomplished photographer and loving, full-time mom. Alison was a founding member of the LeRoy Lions Club and the LeRoy Farmer’s Market.
Alison is survived by her husband Ben, her children Max and Ayla, and her parents Gail Tallaksen and Al and Evie Slaathaug; her brothers Joel Tallaksen and Jake Slaathaug with his wife Carrie; her parents in-law Barry and Deb Reburn and brother in-law Tom Reburn with his wife Lindi; her nieces and nephews Brayden and Taylor Buthe and Liam Slaathaug, and Carter, Ellie, Parker, and Paxton Reburn; her maternal grandmother Charlotte Fiedler and her paternal grandmother Donna Slaathaug.
Services will be held at Alison’s home at 710 N. Broadway, LeRoy, Minnesota, at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 30, 2016, gathering until 5 p.m. In case of rain, services will be at St. Patrick’s Church in LeRoy, Minnesota.
