Dancing out the season; Jane Taylor dancers win awards, prepare for annual recital

Students at the Jane Taylor Academy of Dance are wrapping up a busy season.
The Jane Taylor Academy of Dance will hold their 52nd annual recital at 7 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, at Austin High School’s Knowlton Auditorium. Tickets are $7 and will be sold at the door.
All proceeds from the flower sale will be donated to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
This past season, the team from Jane Taylor Academy of Dance presented the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society with over a $400 donation.
This past season the Jane Taylor dancers competed at three competitions and were awarded first, third and fouth place high Score Overall Senior Division Duet and two special awards (Joseph Seeman and Levi Seeman), second and third place high score overall in division (Betsy Ettinger), third and 8th place high Score Overall Senior Division Duet (Dorothy Stevens and Betsy Ettinger), third place high score overall division and special award (Senior and Junior Company Tap), 6th place high score overall (Senior Company Jazz), 10th place high score overall (Senior, Junior and Performing Company Lyrical). In addition the dancers were awarded five Platinum Awards, 14 High Gold Awards, two Gold Awards; Starpower scored on a scale of Five Stars, the Jane Taylor Academy of Dance dancers were awarded the following: two routines had five stars, six routines scored four and three-fourths stars, three routines scored four and a half Stars.
Betsy Ettinger toured with the Dance Olympus Workshop as a VIP and has recently auditioned for the Sarah Jo Fazio Production Company and has been included.
