Paul Fischer has filed to challenge incumbent Jeremy Carolan in the 3rd Ward on the Austin City Council.
Fischer, 50, says he wants to run for council to represent what the citizens want.
“I want to be there to represent the citizens,” Fischer said. “I approach every issue as it comes and make the best decision.”
He said his approach will be to understand what the public wants and what their feelings are about issues in the city and facing the council.
Fischer serves on the Vision 2020 Business Friendly Environment committee and the Public Relations board for the Salvation Army.
Fischer works at Alpha Media. He previously served six years on the Brownsdale City Council.
He currently lives in Austin with his two children, Evan, 12, and Katara, 9.
