A man accused of possessing a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) found at a Waltham farm on May 8 pleaded not guilty in Dodge County Thursday.
William Phillip Cordle, 40, of Sargeant faces one gross misdemeanor charge of possessing ammunition or any firearm while under an order for protection.
On May 8, investigators and officers from Dodge and Mower counties executed a search warrant at Cordle’s property on Dodge/Mower Road in Dodge County, according to court records.
During the search, the following items were found:
• T28-E12 inert motor round (RPG)
• Inactive grenade
• Ammo box with miscellaneous rounds of ammo
• Black powder revolver
• Ruger 10 round magazine for a handgun
• Ruger handgun case for an SR9
• Desert Eagle .357 handgun box
• Cans of smokeless rifle powder
The RPG led authorities to contact the St. Paul Bomb Squad and Air Force Ordinance Disposal Unit for assistance, and the round was detonated as a precaution.
Cordle currently has a valid order for protection from Mower County and is not allowed to possess any ammunition or firearms.
His next appearance is scheduled for an Aug. 31 for a pre-trial and a Sept. 19 for a jury trial.
