Rockets cruise past Packer baseball team

The Austin baseball team suffered its worst loss of the season as it fell to Rochester John Marshall 16-3 in six innings in Seltz Field Thursday.
The Rockets (6-6 overall) took a 7-0 lead in the top of the third inning and they added seven more runs in the top of the sixth to instill the 10-run rule. Austin (5-6 overall) committed four errors and it walked nine batters in the loss.
“It’s inevitable, you’re going to get one of those games whether you like it or not,” Austin head coach Chris Gogolewski said. “Tonight was one of those games where when one wheel fell off, the other fell off and then the drive axle fell off. Their pitcher kept us off balanced and we didn’t get a stick on the ball.”
Austin won’t have much time to dwell on the loss as it plays four games in the next five days.
“When you’re playing a bunch of games over the week, you run out of pitching and that’s the way it is,” Gogolewski said.
