2 sustain minor injuries in bus-SUV crash near Adams

A broadside crash between a charter bus and Chevy Equinox left two with minor injuries on Sunday.
At about 1:18 p.m., Sandra Head, 71, of Alta Vista, Iowa, was parked in her 2012 Chevy Equinox on Highway 56 in Adams. She was pulling out from parking when Gayln Hall, 66, of Nevada, Iowa, was driving the 2007 Prevost charter bus, and struck the Equinox on the driver’s side.
Head was wearing her seat belt and suffered non life-threatening injuries and Hall had no apparent injury and was also wearing his seat belt. One passenger on the bus, Laurel Womeldorf, 72, of Decorah, Iowa also suffered non life-threatening injuries
Head and Womeldorf were treated at Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin.
The Equinox sustained total damage while the bus sustained moderate damage.
Adams Police Department and Mower County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
