A 9-year-old was struck by a motorcycle after she ran across the street on Friday.
At about 4:38 p.m. on Friday, a 50-year-old man was driving his motorcycle in the 1600 block of Fourth Street Southwest. He saw children playing and slowed down, according to Police Chief Brian Krueger.
The victim ran in front of him and was struck by the motorcycle’s right side. She suffered an abrasion on her foot and was transported to Mayo Clinic Health System in Austin by Gold Cross Ambulance.
No citation was issued. Krueger said it’s a reminder to look both ways before crossing the street and to watch for children playing.
