The Lyle-Pacelli baseball team bounced back from a loss to beat Hayfield 7-1 and keep its season going in Seltz Field Thursday.
The Athletics (18-4 overall) had lost 10-6 to USC in the Section 1A title game after committing seven errors and allowing five runs in the first inning. In a Section 1A qualifier against Hayfield, LP used a four-run third inning to go up 5-1 on the Vikings.
Daniel Bollingberg picked up his third straight postseason win in the game against Hayfield as he struck out 11 in seven innings.
“I am proud of the way the kids bounced back after that loss though they gutted it out and started to make plays and better contact,” LP head coach Brock Meyer said.
LP will take on Randolph in a Section 1A elimination game at Rochester Century 10 a.m. Saturday.
