‘Bikes for Barker’ set for June 25

ALBERT LEA — The ninth annual “Bikes for Barker” Scholarship Fundraiser will be held Saturday, June 25 starting at the American Legion, 142 Broadway N., in Albert Lea.
The fundraiser includes a pancake breakfast from 9 to 11:30 a.m., a 100-mile motorcycle run from the American Legion to Lanesboro, Minn., and an 11-mile bicycle ride starting at the head of the Root River Trail in Fountain, Minn., to the City Park in Lanesboro. A donation of $5 is suggested for the breakfast, and registration is $20 per motorcycle and $10 per biking family. There will be a luncheon celebration at the City Park in Lanesboro afterward. A donation of $5 is suggested for the luncheon. Participants are welcome to join the festivities at any time during the day.
A raffle, for $5 per ticket, will be held featuring a $1000 trip for two to Las Vegas or destination of choice arranged with 4 Seasons Travel, two $250 Visa gift cards, and other prizes. All money raised at this event goes toward the Garth Barker Memorial Scholarship Fund, which assists students pursuing careers in chemical dependency counseling.
