A man stuck in a Brownsdale drainage pipe fled after he was freed Thursday.
Mower County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 200 block of East Main Street at about 12:29 p.m.
A woman said she looked out her window to the backyard and saw a pair of feet sticking out from a pipe. Upon further investigation, she found a man in the pipe, according to Mower County Sheriff Chief Deputy Mark May.
The pipe was 2 feet in diameter and 6.25 feet deep. The woman was unable to free the man, who was panicking. She then called the Brownsdale Police Department.
He had been stuck in the pipe for about a half-hour to an hour and was eventually freed by the Brownsdale Fire Department. After he was freed, the man fled the scene without talking to police.
Police have not located the man since.
The woman was advised to remove or fill in the pipe.
