The Austin girls golf team closed out its season at the Section 1AAA meet in Cannon Falls Monday.

The Packers had a pair of sophomores playing in the final round. Kristina Thorson finished with a two-day total score of 198 and Madison Hasley finished with a two-day total of 211, but neither golfer was able to reach the state meet.

Austin head coach Ryan Wiechmann said that Thorson and Hasley should continue to improve going into next season.

“They missed the cut for state, but it was a good experience for them,” Wiechmann said. “They’ll be two of our leaders going into next year.”
