Two BP golfers finish in top six at state meet

The Blooming Prairie golf team had a pair of top-six finishers at the Minnesota Class A state meet in Becker, Minn. Wednesday.
In the boys meet, Tommy Braaten put up a score of 75 and his two-day total of 153 put him in fourth place. Braaten finished five strokes behind Blake Kahlbaugh of Mahnomen/Waubun, who won the meet.
The Awesome Blossoms made their first team appearance at the state meet as well and they finished in fifth place with a score of 673. Mounds Park Academy won the meet with a score of 623.
In the girls meet, BP junior Taylor Christianson had a strong performance in her third straight appearance at the state meet. Christianson shot an 81 on Wednesday to give her a two-day total score of 164 and a sixth place finish.
Christianson was eight strokes behind Keira Smith of Heritage Christian Academy, who won the meet with a 156.
