Mother Nature wasn’t very kind to baseball Saturday, as storms and heavy rains forced either the postponement or cancellation of games throughout southern Minnesota.

The Austin Legion, playing the Rochester Patriots in the District Tournament had their game postponed until Sunday at 1 p.m. in Rochester.

The Austin VFW, which was hosting Cannon Falls to kick off Saturday in the Sub-District Tournament at Marcusen Park had their games postponed to Sunday with the first game starting at 10 a.m. at Marcusen. The remaining games will follow.

Meanwhile, in Minneapolis, the Austin Greyhounds, who were participating in the Town Ball Classic, didn’t play as well. Heavy rains in the Twin Cities canceled the event though the Minnesota Twins organization is currently looking for another possible make up date according to manager John Frein.
