The 19th annual Packer Classic golf event, held on July 18 at the Austin Country Club received its best sponsorship support to date!

Thank you to the overwhelming number of generous business and individual sponsors as well as the invested donors and volunteers who came together to raise over $23,000.00 in proceeds.

The Packer Classic golf event is the main fundraiser used for the Austin Public Education Foundation grants, awarded each year throughout the district to supplement and support K-12 academic, athletic and co-curricular initiatives.

Each year the Austin Public Education Foundation receives innovative grant requests designed to positively impact students’ growth and expand learning opportunities at all seven Austin Public Schools plus the Community Learning Center.

Since 1992 the Austin Public Education Foundation, through the community’s involvement, has been honored to invest over $440,000.00 to directly influence student success in Austin Public Schools.

Built on this community of support the Austin Public Education Foundation strives to meet their commitment to locally influence the quality of education embraced in Austin Public Schools and ensure that Austin’s teachers have the tools they need to teach.

We gratefully acknowledge our media partners at the Austin Daily Herald, KAAL TV 6, KAUS Radio and the Mower County Shopper for their coverage in promoting the Packer Classic golf event.

The success of this grant fundraiser could not have happened without the mighty efforts of the Packer Classic Golf Committee Members. Thank you Karen Baldridge, Cece and Joe Kroc, Joel Schieck, district liaison Sharon Alms and all of the Austin Public Education Foundation Board Members.
