Members of the Austin community will be able to help Kelly Nesvold as he finishes his 300M4FREEDOM triathalon in Austin Aug. 28.
Nesvold will be completing the 300-mile triathlon to raise funds and awareness to help fight human trafficking that weekend and he’s hoping he can have a little bit of company over the last 3.2 miles through Austin.
Community members are invited to run or walk with Nesvold from Morem’s Tree Service at 3608 4th St NW to Cornerstone Church at 1403 1st Ave SW.
Nesvold will likely be exhausted after completing his grueling task and he’s hoping to draw a big crowd for the finish.
“If people want to show up and take turns carrying me, that’ll be great too,” Nesvold joked. “We can do a wheel barrow relay too. Whatever it takes to make it fun and entertaining.”
Anyone interested in walking or running with Nesvold can register at the Web Site 300m4freedom.com. Participants will get a t-shirt and they will have the option of starting their own personal fundraiser to fight human trafficking.
“We want it to be as huge of an event as possible,” Nesvold said. “Anybody who’s committed to making a statement on human trafficking should be out there and joining me. The more bodies that we can have out there the better.”
