The Austin girls soccer team started slow as it lost 4-0 to Byron on the road Monday.
The Bears (2-0 overall) scored all four of their goals in the first 10 minutes of the game, but Austin (1-1 overall) was able to rebound and generate some attacks in the second half.
“In the second half we started playing Austin soccer, but we just couldn’t get any goals,” Austin head coach Jake Levisen said. “They fought for every inch of the field and it’s all you ran really ask from them as a coach.”
The Packers will host Rochester John Marshall in their home opener at Art Hass Stadium 7 p.m. Thursday.
