1 dies, 1 seriously injured in Hwy. 63 crash

One Stewartville resident died and another was seriously injured after a motorcycle and van collided in eastern Mower County Sunday.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2013 Dodge Caravan was crossing Highway 63 in Racine just after 9 a.m. when it collided with a southbound 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle.
Donald Jordan, 42, of Stewartville, who was driving the motorcycle, was killed in the crash, and his wife, Serena, 46, was seriously injured and taken to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Marlys Sivesind, 49, was driving the Caravan and was treated at St. Marys for non life-threatening injuries. Her husband, Dennis, 52, was not injured in the crash.
The crash closed Highway 63 and a detour was in effect until 12:40 p.m.
The Mower County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo One, Stewartville Fire, Grand Meadow Ambulance and the Minnesota Department of Transportation assisted on the scene.
Alcohol was not detected in either driver’s system, according to the release.
