NWS looking for singers

The Northwestern Singers will begin the 2016-17 with their first rehearsal at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. on Monday Sept. 19, 2016.
The NWS are looking for new singers for this season. Anyone is welcome to participate and you don’t have to be a professional singer.
The NWS host events throughout the year that include a winter show as well as a benefit concert for youth music programs.
The winter 2017 show will be March 4 and 5 at the Paramount Theatre. The theme is Disney. The show will feature many favorite Disney songs from “Mary Poppins,” “Aladdin,” “Frozen” and many more and will include choreography in small groups.
The annual benefit concert for youth music programs will be on Nov. 5 at St. Olaf Church.
NWS have been performing in Austin for more than 60 years. The Singers are made up of 40 men and women ranging in age from the 1920s to the 1970s from many different backgrounds
The benefit concert for Austin youth music programs are held each November. To date, the NWS have raised more than $48,000 for youth music programs. They also sponsor a scholarship for a student at Riverland Community College.
