Joan K. Barth, 73

Joan K. Barth, 73, of Austin, Minnesota, died Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health System, Austin.

She was born June 18, 1943 in Preston, MN to Reuben and Ann Barth. She resided in Preston until moving with her family to Austin in 1953. Joan attended Austin High School and later received her GED. For many years she tended bar or waitressed around the Austin Area before going to work for Hormel Foods Corporation and retiring from there. Joan was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church and the Eagles Auxiliary 5th District.

Survivors include her daughter Tonya Clausen (Kevin Huppert), grandson John Curry (Angie Doring), Carston, her sister June Hovey, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Reuben and Ann Barth.

A Celebration of Joan’s Life will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17, 2016, at the Worlein Funeral Home Chapel in Austin with Rev. Jeff Forbes officiating. In accordance with her wishes, Joan’s body has been donated to the Mayo Clinic Anatomical Bequest Program. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Barth Family.
