Lookout Auxiliary

Lookout Auxiliary 703 Fraternal Order of Eagles celebrated its 81st anniversary.

Special guests were State Madam President Garnet Karau of St. James, Minnesota and her honorary Auxiliary Mother Marge Reinke, 96-year-old past president Mildred King along with past presidents Gloria Njos, Ethel Huinker, Elaine Lane, Hazel Julson, Carol Connor, and June Callier were honored. Barb Sprandle sang special music. All enjoyed a salad luncheon.

Greeting from Aerie 703 by their Secretary. Austin will host the fifth district meeting on Nov. 20 with all bringing food shelf items. Mildred King won the door prize.

Duplicate Bridge

Tuesday, Oct. 18, seven tables played at the Mower County Senior Center. First place, Gene Muchow and Ron Peters; second place, Barb Rofshus and Lorraine Quinlivan; third place, John Liesen and Rick Stroup; fourth place (tie), Bud Higgins and Vandy Newman and Joyce Crowe and Millie Siever; sixth place, Lorraine Lippert and Russ Valle

Wednesday, Oct. 18, five tables played. First place, Loren Cleland and Bud Higgins; second place, Tom Flaherty and Stan Schultz; third place, Joyce Crowe and Millie Siever; fourth place, Vandy Newman and Ron Peters; fifth place, Dave Ring and Orrin Roisen.

Players were from Austin, Albert Lea, Adams and Rose Creek. All bridge players are encouraged to join us at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and noon on Wednesdays.
