Thelma L. Maage, 93

Thelma L. Maage, 93, of LeRoy, Minnesota, died Friday Oct. 14, 2016, at Wildwood Grove in LeRoy, Minnesota, where she had resided for five years.
Thelma Lillian Kalland was born Sept. 28,1923, in Strathcona, Minnesota, to Nick and Clara (Norgaard) Kalland. She attended and graduated from Adams High School and was united in marriage to Theodore “Ted” Maage in LeRoy on Nov. 23, 1941, and together they farmed in the Le Roy and Ostrander area all their lives.
Thelma enjoyed all aspects of farm life especially raising horses and her Dalmatians, taking both to many of the area parades. She also was very active in singing for many funeral services and other occasions in the surrounding areas.
Thelma is survived by two sons; U.S. Army Major (Ret) Donald (Gayle) Maage of Fridley, Minnesota, and Dr. Richard (Deb) Maage of Hardin, Montana, one granddaughter Keri (John) Erickson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and one great granddaughter Sydney Devito of Phoenix, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1995 and seven brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday Oct. 18, 2016, at the LeRoy Lutheran Church in LeRoy, Minnesota, with the Rev. Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will be in the Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
