Turtle Creek under flood warning

The area is seeing a bit of flooding this week after the Austin area received 2 to 3.7 inches of rain Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service issued a flood warning for Turtle Creek in Austin through late Thursday night or until flood waters receded. Waters were at 11.1 feet at 4:30 a.m., above the 10.5-foot flood level. Minor flooding was reported.
According to the National Weather Service, Austin saw 3.7 inches of rain in northeast Austin, 3.35 inches at the Austin Wastewater Treatment Facility and varying reports as low as 2.05 inches at Austin Municipal Airport. Grand Meadow reported 2.75 inches.
Austin has received 45.03 inches of rain to date, higher than the normal 31.11 inches — and the highest recorded through this point of the year.
Austin’s 2016 is already the second wettest year on record, just behind the 2015 record of 45.69 inches.
After sprinkles were expected Thursday, Austin will see a chance of rain Saturday night and next Monday, according to the weather service.
