Dube, 37, is a curriculum specialist with Capella University.

“It’s something I thought about for a very long time,” she said Wednesday morning. “I am very excited.”

She said her first step was “to get to know the rest of the school board” and its priority issues.

“I am going to be a sponge,” she said with a laugh. “I want to learn all I can.”

Lees, 84, a retired educator and probation officer, said he was gratified for the win. He returns to the board with over 20 years of board service.

“I am looking forward to it; there are always things to do, always changes (in education),” he said. “I am very pleased.”

Mary Jane Kestener had been up for re-election but opted not to seek another term.
