Dr. Kara L. Heimer has joined Dr. Peter Green and the staff of Drs. Elrod, Green & Hyland.

Heimer grew up in Faribault, Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Arts in biology from the College of St. Catherine and her dental degree from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry.

“We are excited that Dr. Heimer is joining us and we look forward to sharing her enthusiasm, experience and dental excellence,” Green said in a press release.

Heimer and her husband Brian have two young boys, Noah, 5, and Knox, 4, and two daughters Denni, 12, and Hannah, 8.

Brian is a physical education and health teacher passionate about youth and youth athletics. The Heimers moved to Austin to be near family. They are looking forward to raising their family in Brian’s hometown and are committed to becoming part of the Austin area community.

“When the opportunity presented itself to practice alongside Dr. Green in my husband’s hometown, we knew that it was the right path for our family,”  Heimer said. “Dr. Green and I both care about our patients like they are family and we care about providing first class dental care. Our faith, family and our community is the central part of our lives and I am really looking forward to working with him and all the great staff members of Elrod, Green & Hyland.”

Heimer has been serving patients in southern Minnesota for over seven years. She is a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Minnesota Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Dental Association and the Minnesota Dental Association. She enjoys all facets of family dentistry and has a passion for cosmetic dentistry.

Dr. Bobee Hyland will be leaving the practice. Hyland and her husband Derek welcomed their fourth child on Oct. 3 and this winter will be moving to the Hawaiian island of Maui. Green and his staff are excited for Hyland and her family and wish them much joy and success. Elrod, Green & Hyland have been serving the Austin community for over 75 years.
