Austin police are seeking information about who might have fired multiple gunshots Sunday in the parking lot of Mandolin Place Apartments, 201 31st St. SW in Austin.
No injuries have been reported in connection with the incident, said Police Chief Brian Krueger.
According to the report, officers were called to the scene at 9:22 p.m. Sunday, after receiving a report of shots being fired. The apartment complex has three buildings with common parking lots.
Officers began interviewing residents who said two vehicles fled the scene after the shots were fired. The vehicles were last seen traveling southbound on 31st Street.
During the investigation at the scene, officers found 11 shell casings in the parking area. The bullets were later determined to be from two different weapons, both 9 mm handguns.
Krueger said five casings were located in one area and six in another.
Three bullet holes were found in the hood of a car in the parking lot, and one more in the driver’s side door. No one was in the vehicle at the time, he said.
Investigators also found one bullet hole in the siding of one of the buildings.
Krueger urged anyone with information to contact the police department, (507) 437-9400.
