The Austin boys hockey team had a big answer as it beat LeSueur-Henderson-SPCTUC (3-4 overall) 3-2 on the road Tuesday.
The Packers (3-1 overall) saw a 2-0 lead disappear in the second period and become a 2-2 tie, but Austin took the lead for good when Kory Potach scored his second goal of the night on an assist from Brayden Merritt eight minutes into the third period.
“In the first period we were the dominant team and we played hockey like we were supposed to play hockey,” Austin head coach Jason Merritt said. “In the second period it was kind of a role reversal and in the third period we battled back. It was a good win.”
Bryar Flanders scored a goal from Jack Dankert to put Austin up 2-0 in the first period.
Noah Bawek had 30 saves in the win for the Packers.
