A Grand Meadow couple pleaded not guilty Thursday in Mower County District Court to felony charges after they were accused of receiving $9,273 in overpayments in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
Todd Marcus Wright, 33, and Samantha Jo Wright, 32, each face a felony count of wrongfully obtaining assistance.
On Aug. 11, the Grand Meadow police responded to a domestic disturbance, and then Mower County Health and Human Services contact a detective with the Mower County Sheriff’s office.
The incident stems from whether the Wrights were separated and lived together and whether the two were eligible for the SNAP benefits.
