The Hayfield boys basketball team opened its season with an 88-53 loss to Saint Charles (1-0 overall) in Hayfield Friday.

The Vikings (0-1 overall) led 13-12 early on, but the Saints went on a three-point flurry as 10 players combined for 16 total three-point makes. Saint Charles used a 22-2 run in the first half to go up big.

Trace Tebay led the Vikings with 21 points.
