Hayfield girls basketball team beats Goodhue

The Hayfield girls basketball team picked up a big 46-34 win over defending Class A state champion Goodhue (5-2 overall, 2-1 HVL) on the road Tuesday.
Maggie Streightiff poured in 23 points as she hit five three-pointers for the Vikings (3-1 overall, 3-0 HVL), who led by as many as 19 points in the second half.
“Maggie was absolutely on fire. She’s just tough to match up with,” Hayfield co-head coach Kasey Krekling said. “We played very good defense and we rebounded very well. It was a very good accomplishment for us and we’re very happy with this win.”
