Packer boys hockey team falls to Faribault

The Austin boys hockey team controlled the puck for most of the night, but it finished with a 4-2 loss to Faribault in Riverside Arena Tuesday.

The Packers (3-3 overall, 1-3 Big Nine) fired off 62 shots in the loss.

“We just have to figure out how to score,” Austin head coach Jason Merritt said. “We played well, we’re just having a hard time finishing.”

The Falcons (3-3 overall, 2-3 Big Nine) took a 2-0 lead in the first period but Austin tied things up at 2-2 in the second period when Kory Potach and Brayden Merritt each scored a goal.

The Falcons scored two goals in the third period to ice the game.
